Roc-A-Fella Co-Founder Kareem 'Biggs' Burke Headed to Jail

As Jay-Z continues to rise, his former running mates continue to struggle in their life after Hov. While Dame Dash is facing financial struggles based on bad business dealings, the other member of the Roc-A-Fella founding triumvirate, Kareem “Biggs” Burke, is now headed to jail.

As a co-founder of Roc-A-Fella, Biggs was always seen as the silent partner of the group … but now, his silence will be even more deafening as he begins serving a five-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. According to the NY Daily News, Biggs was recently caught up in a drug sting that netted 50 arrests. The sting was called “Operation Green Venom” and the conspirators are accused of attempting to distribute more than 100 kilos of marijuana.

During sentencing, Biggs reportedly told Judge Loretta Swain that she wouldn’t see him in court again. Her response was that there was “nothing personal” and that she would keep him to that promise.

Jay-Z, Dame Dash and Biggs officially severed ties in 2004 when Roc-A-Fella disbanded.
