Right about now, Mitt Romney’s camp is probably saying that Rick Santorum could have kept his endorsement to himself — especially if he was going to go on national TV and blast Romney’s health care plan on the “Tonight Show With Jay Leno.”
Santorum, the former GOP presidential primary rival from Pennsylvania, gave his endorsement to Romney under the most insulting of circumstances, alerting the public at 11 p.m. and then giving it at the end of a 900-word speech.
The very next night, Santorum was on the Jay Leno program, wherehe basically disowned Romney by telling America that Romney’s health care plan in Massachusetts was a disaster. Listen to what he had to say.
