Beyoncé has hit the ground running as she officially releases yet another track, ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ earlier Wednesday morning (June 1) on her website. Ever since winning the Billboard Music Award’s Millineum Award she just keeps on giving us more performances, more songs and more Sasha Fierce! The ballad is the second single from her fourth album, ‘4,’ and is quite the opposite of the up-tempo ‘Run The World (Girls).’ Some of us can relate to these piercing words of the diva, to the point of almost shaking your head and rolling your neck with her as she belts out, “What goes around, comes back around, my baby,” …indeed it does. She goes on to tell her ex- lover in the song that he almost had her and she almost made that mistake of loving him. “When I think of the time that I almost loved you/You showed your ass, and I saw the real you,” …”Thank God you blew it, thank God I dodged a bullet/I’m so over you, so baby good lookin’ out…you turned out to be the best thing I never had.” You betta tell ‘em B!
Billboard.com reports that the highly anticipated album ‘4’ comes out on June 28 via Columbia Records. The album is 12 tracks long, four of which are already accessible via the Internet. Once again this album is “all about B” as it will only have one collaboration titled ‘Party,’ featuring ATLien, Andre 3000, one-half of the popular group OutKast. June 28 is weeks away, so in the mean time keep your eyes peeled as I’m sure Team Beyoncé has more surprises in store for us.
In my best Beyoncé voice I ask, “You ready?”
