Serena Williams take note: Some folks take Twitter’s invite of “follow my tweets” a little too seriously.
At least that’s what Serena Williams discovered when a stalker followed her tweets right to her residence.
Apparently, Patenema Ouedraogo, 40, had been following Williams’ tweets and trekked around the nation, pretending to be her assistant in Los Angeles when she was meeting with her agent and in Tampa when she was at the Home Shopping Network.
Ouedraogo was slapped with a restraining order, but that didn’t keep him away. In fact, the gentleman allegedly told police that he got Williams’ address from the court papers filed for the restraining order.
Armed with that information, the star-struck alleged stalker followed Serena Williams once again and waited patiently for her outside of her gated subdivision in Florida. He wanted to deliver a love letter to the tennis star.
And the stalking suspect also carried a letter addressed to Tyrese Gibson. That letter requested that Gibson arrange the magic date with Williams.
Williams was not at home at the time, but her sister, Venus, spotted him and alerted authorities.
Ouedraogo reportedly told officers that he was in love with Serena Williams and that he “knows the feelings are reciprocal.”
The hopeless romantic is being held on $25,000 bail in the Palm Beach County Jail.
Serena Williams may have to rethink her social media strategy and, perhaps, disable her GPS option. –zondra hughes
