Rapper Freddie Gibbs spoke to New York City’s Hot 97 FM about claims made by his former mentor, CTE head Young Jeezy, in an earlier interview with the radio station. Jeezy blamed Gibbs for ruining his relationship with hip-hop superstar Eminem, a claim that Gibbs flatly denies.

Jeezy is blaming his former protege Freddie Gibbs for ruining many of the Atlanta rappers’ previous good relationships throughout the music industry. In an interview with Hot 97, Jeezy said that Gibbs burned bridges after Jeezy had the younger rapper featured on projects with high profile stars.

This week, after months and maybe years of speculation, the end of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew appears to be official. The hip-hop star departed his longtime Interscope label, taking his G-Unit label independent. He signed a worldwide distribution agreement with Caroline/Capitol/UMG, and he is expected to release a new album called Animal Ambition on June 3rd. But in the wake of his announced departure from Interscope, 50’s old G-Unit cohort Tony Yayo made statements in an interview that indicated that G-Unit was long over as a hip-hop group and, most importantly, as a collective of old friends.
A few notable rappers with histories of feuding have made very public declarations distancing themselves from their combative pasts. In late 2013, Southern hip-hop superstars Rick Ross and Jeezy began to close the book on their beef; one that began in 2010 with what both have since labeled a misunderstanding. And this week, two New York-based rhymers with a history of tension finally put their feud to rest, as well.
Rick Ross and Jeezy fans were surprised when the two rappers, who had been feuding for years, finally set aside their differences. The pair appeared on the track “War Ready,” a song slated to be included on Ross’ upcoming album, Mastermind. In a new interview with Huffington Post Live, Ross dismisses the bad blood as just “misconfusion.”
