Rappers Lupe Fiasco and Dizaster got into a heated war of words on Twitter last night. Lupe recently stated that while he’s a fan of critically-acclaimed West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar, there are other emcees that he’d rank above the TDE star currently, including King Los, Cassidy and Logic.

Schoolboy Q defends Macklemore’s Kendrick Lamar text

When Seattle rapper Macklemore took home the Grammy award for Best Rap Album this year, he sent fellow hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar a much-maligned text, apologizing for “robbing” Lamar of an award many thought the Compton rhymer deserved. The buzz around Schoolboy Q has been building for the better part of two years. The L.A. rapper’s gift for wordplay, dark sense of humor and marijuana fixation became well-known amongst hip-hop’s underground; and with the release of his 2012 indie album Habits and Contradictions, Q officially became hip-hop’s “Next Big Thing.” Also, his TDE compadre Kendrick Lamar went from underground sensation to major superstar during that time, setting up high expectations for Schoolboy Q’s major label debut, Oxymoron.
