‘Orange Is the New Black’ season 3 gets early release

OITNB” fans, rejoice! While you slept, Netflix released season three of the binge worthy show, hours ahead of its scheduled premiere. The 10-episode season was originally scheduled to hit the streaming service Friday, June 12, but appeared some six hours early, just in time to compete with Game 4 of the ratings-juggernaut NBA Finals as they tipped off in Cleveland.

The news was announced at OrangeCon, an invitation-only fan event in New York, where cast members Uzo Aduba, Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Laverne Cox, Natasha Lyonne, Lea Delaria showed their support.

“Orange Is the New Black,” is based on the memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman. Jenji Kohan is the creator and showrunner, whose hit show has already been renewed for a fourth season, and begins shooting on Monday. Will you be watching?
