All throughout the never ending feud between Todd Tucker and his fiancée, Kandi Burruss‘ disapproving mother, Mama Joyce, Tucker has certainly been proactive about trying to make peace with his future mother-in-law. With Burruss and Tucker finally getting ready to tie the knot, fans are assuming that Tucker and Joyce have finally come to a better understanding. In a clip for Sunday night’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” fans may get a peek into a turning point for the feuding pair when Tucker confronts Joyce about their beef.
In the clip, Tucker and Don Juan take Joyce to the Rialto Theater in Atlanta to show off the venue for Burruss’s new stage play. And while Burruss is practicing on stage, Tucker takes the opportunity to ask Joyce why she seems to hate him so much.
“I really want to talk to you Mama Joyce. I know we’ve had our ups and downs. I don’t know what it is, but somewhere we went wrong,” Tucker said.
“You looked at me as an opportunist and ‘he’s not here for the right reasons, he’s dating her friend’ — a lot of things were said. For me, I’d rather just speak directly to you, one-on-one just to get an understanding.”
Tucker then admitted that he’d even be fine with Joyce confirming once and for all that she’ll never be on his side.
“If it’s ‘Todd, I’m probably never going to like you; I can live with that’… I’m not here to get anything from Kandi. I’m not here to get her money,” Tucker insisted. “I’m here for her.”
After surprisingly remaining silent as Tucker spoke, Joyce finally gave a response, but if Tucker was looking for some kind understanding, that certainly wasn’t what Joyce was offering with her answer.
“I didn’t stop liking you. I stopped respecting you,” Joyce said bluntly as the clip came to an end.
We’ll have to see how things play out on Sunday night’s episode of “RHOA,” but we have a nagging feeling that it’s going to be a long time before Joyce is ever really satisfied with Tucker. – nicholas robinson
