Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic continues to pick up momentum. Following yesterday’s news that 17-year-old Disney star Zendaya Coleman had been replaced by Nickelodeon star Alexandra Shipp, Wendy Williams makes a huge announcement of her own.
The controversial morning talk show host recently revealed that she’s taking the reigns as the executive producer of the upcoming Lifetime biopic tentatively titled “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B.” She tweeted…
I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah.

With the constant drama that surrounds Williams, we wonder what the Haughton family will think about her taking on the project. Do you think Williams is the right edition to get this movie moving in the right direction? – ruthie hawkins/@ruubabie
