On Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Columbia, South Carolina, Bree Newsome climbed the flagpole to remove the banner of Confederacy waving in the wind at the Statehouse. She was ordered by cops to come down, but she finished the task first. She was taken away in handcuffs.
