Gwyneth Paltrow has never been the kind of star to get involved in embarrassing celebrity dramas, but the low-key star found herself in hot water this week after a backstage tweet using the N-word sent fans into an uproar.

While attending The Throne’s much-hyped show in Paris, Paltrow, who is BFFs with Jay-Z and Beyoncé, sat alongside Bey, Kelly Rowland and The-Dream at the show as the group cheered on Jay and ‘Ye.

But things went awry after The-Dream snapped a photo of Paltrow grooving onstage and tweeted it with the caption, “Ni—as in Paris for real @mrteriusnash (the dream) tyty, beehigh.”

The tweet was apparently sent from Paltrow’s phone, causing an uproar from angry fans who thought the actress crossed a racial line.

Paltrow later defended herself, tweeting, “Hold up, It’s the title of the song!” But as the backlash continued, The-Dream finally stepped in to defend his friend.

“Fyi Sorry for the Confu I typed Ni—as in Paris for real from Gwens phone. My bad I was Fkd up please excuse it! We were lit!” wrote The-Dream.

However, unhappy fans proceeded to lash out at The-Dream, prompting the music maestro to write a series of peeved tweets about the situation.

“Ni—a doesn’t have any power over me which is why this will be the last thing I say about it,” he wrote. “A word means something when u react to it! … Context is everything. Meaning it in the context as a Song which is how we Sold it to the world!!!!!! It is what it is … And actually Ni—az was in Paris! LOL. Stop wasting God’s time and do something with your life. Love not war.”

But the Twitter attacks continued against The-Dream and he once again defended himself against his angry fans.

“Trust me. If I felt a mfkr was trying me on that tip that was that close to me I would’ve been arrested. Be nice.” The-Dream later summed up his thoughts by writing, “WE GIVE THE WORD TO MUCH POWER!”
