Dutchess Lattimore of VH1’s “Black Ink” reality show, which is filmed in Harlem, can now put all her fears to rest. The opening of the entrepreneur’s latest venture, the Pretty-N-Ink tattoo shop in Charlotte, North Carolina, was a success. South Tryon Street in Charlotte was flooded with friends, family, media and fans, who gathered for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate Dutchess opening her very own establishment in her hometown. Dutchess made sure to note the new space is definitely a place for the community and events centered around philanthropic efforts. Pretty-N-Ink will be more than just the local town tattoo parlor.

Of course a party wouldn’t be a party without the Black Ink crew, well some of them. Dutchess’ fiancé, Ceaser of Black Ink, the Wizzard, Oh Sh##!, Teddy Ruks and Sky Code of the Harlem Black Ink crew were joined by owner Ryan Henry of Black Ink Chicago.

The food was great. No chicken wings were thrown on the floor (inside joke for show viewers). Their were some awesome chefs present, too. Chef Andarrio was in the house with the most amazing lobster macaroni and cheese I have ever wrapped my lips around. When you see his Cuzzo’s Cuisine catering truck, flag it down and order everything seafood. Google Neet’s Sweets when you have a sweet tooth. I also discovered that Nuvo is back on the block partnering with Birthday Cake Wine too and no longer under the reigns of the Diageo brand.

The best thing I observed during the ribbon cutting celebration was the love and support Dutchess received from her family, friends, vendors, fans, and from those like me who honestly just believe in her endeavors.

How will Dutchess handle it all? Will she remain a tattoo artist at Black Ink in Harlem, NY (we hope so), and run a business hundreds of miles away? Then there’s the Black Ink magazine she and Ceaser launched and the tattoo touring and education classes she teaches. That’s a lot on her shoulders. Not to mention she’s engaged to Ceaser. I look forward to my next interview with Dutchess and Ceaser, so we can get some wedding plan updates.
