A lot of liberal celebrities are not pleased with Donald Trump’s lead in the 2016 presidential race. In fact, many are promising to leave the United States if the Republican front-runner is elected. Trump has gotten wind of this, and seems to be having fun with the idea.
On a Tuesday episode of “Fox and Friends,” the hosts told Trump that stars such as comediennes Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donell and actress Lena Dunham said they would flee the country if he becomes president.
“We’ll get rid of Rosie? Oh, I love it. Now I have to get elected!” he said in a phone interview. “Now I have to get elected because I’ll be doing a great service to our country. I have to. Now it’s much more important. In fact, I’ll immediately get off this call and start campaigning right now.”
Here’s a list of celebrities who vow to leave the country if Trump is elected.
Eddie Griffin
On VladTV, comedian Eddie Griffin suggested that Trump’s attitude toward Mexican immigrants may hint at how he feels about Black people.
“If he wants to build a wall to keep Mexicans out, I know what the f— he feels about a n—s,” he said.
Griffin said he will move to Africa is Trump becomes leader of the free world.
Whoopi Goldberg
Whoopi Goldberg takes issue with Trump’s comments on wanting to keep Mexican immigrants out of the country.
“That’s not the president I want. Find a way to make stuff work. Stop blaming everybody because all of this, as American citizens, this is our — we did all of this,” she said while co-hosing “The View.”
She added, “I don’t want it to be America. Maybe it’s time for me to move, you know.”
Raven-Symone
Goldberg’s fellow “The View” co-host, Raven-Symone, also revealed on the talk show that she would pack her bags and leave the U.S. if Trump is elected.
“My confession for this election is if any Republican gets [elected], I’m gonna move to Canada with my entire family,”she said.
Rev. Al Sharpton
Civil rights activist Al Sharpton said if Trump wins the election, he’ll leave the U.S. before he’s forced to leave.
“If Donald Trump is the nominee, I’m open to support anyone [else], while I’m also reserving my ticket to get out of here if he wins, only because he’d probably have me deported anyway,” Sharpton said.
According to The Washington Examiner, Sharpton is hoping Marco Rubio will be the Republican nominee.
Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson was very blunt about leaving the country if Trump becomes president. While on the Jimmy KImmel show, he said “If that motherf—ker becomes president, I will move my Black a— to South Africa.”
