Republican Senator Roberto Arango says that he may have taken these photos to share his weight loss triumph with his pals, and not as part of a dating profile on Grindr (a chat site for gay men).
“As I shed that weight, I’ve been taking pictures. I don’t remember taking this particular picture but I’m not gonna say I didn’t take it,” he told reporters. “I’d tell you if I remembered taking the picture but I don’t.”
Arango, was a member of the Puerto Rican Senate and vice-chair for George W. Bush’s 2004 Puerto Rico campaign. He opposed gay adoption rights.
