walkers raise funds for breast cancer cure
According
to www.breastcancer.org, every three minutes a woman in the United
States is diagnosed with breast cancer, and approximately 41,000 of
those women will die from the disease. In attempts to reduce the number
of lives that are claimed each year from breast cancer, members from
the Atlanta chapter of the National Philanthropic Trust project – which
benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization – hosted a breast
cancer expo. Women from across the Atlanta metro area came out to
support the cause by pledging their participation this fall in the
three-day walk to help fund breast cancer research and find a cure.
Participants were given tips about training properly for the walk,
packing the necessary supplies, and they even enjoyed a little
relaxation – all for a worthy cause. –jamana jamison
