On behalf of rolling out, we offer our deepest condolences to Kanye West and his entire family. We are saddened by the sudden and shocking loss of Dr. Donda West, former chair of the department of English at Chicago State University and mother of one of music’s biggest superstars. Here are some of her most candid and poignant thoughts about her accomplished son which she shared with rolling out within the last couple of months of her life.
“I’m very proud of Kanye of course, just like any mother would be. I am so proud of him, not only because he’s a world-class entertainer, he is really a world-class son.”
“I always knew that he was going to be really, really special…something great. He seemed to be born with that in him. I didn’t know if he was going to be the best surgeon in the world, the best astronaut, or you know, the no. 1 in hip-hop.”
