The debut release by this Nigerian/German beauty is a soothing blend of
soul, folk, reggae and African-infused rhythms that reads like an open
letter to the people and experiences that have shaped her life. She
croons loving words to her father (“Without You”), husband (“Watching
You”) and son (“Never Been”). Though songs such as “Down on My Knees”
and “Help Is Coming” sound too much alike, Joyful makes for a pleasant
