one missed call

One Missed Call
is one more Hollywood remake of the 2003 Japanese horror film Chakushin
Ari; but that doesn’t mean it’s hollow or pointless. Actually, the
concept comes from a flick by director Takashi Miike, although you
won’t find Miike’s over-the-top gags or weird visual stylings here.
Beth Raymond (Shannyn Sossamon) witnesses the deaths of two of her
friends, just days apart. Both of the friends received horrific
messages by cell phone detailing information about their future deaths.
A cop who believes this story may be Beth’s only hope. The movie is
pretty scary and will get your heart racing. It’s a meaningful
testament to the legacy of the original film’s maker, Mr. Miike. – forrest green III
