Houston-based rapper, Chamillionaire, is readying his third studio album, Venom.
Although he doesn’t have an official release date yet, the Grammy
Award-winner is keeping fans satisfied with a forthcoming mixtape, Mixtape Messiah 5, which drops Nov. 23rd.
It’s been only three months since Mr. Ridin Dirty hit the masses with Mixtape Messiah 4,
and he says that the fifth installment will be a definite prelude to
his album, which is set to be released on Cham’s own
Chamillitary/Universal Republic imprint.
Chamillionaire’s first album, The Sound of Revenge was both a critical and commercial
success for the hip-hop newcomer. The record’s Krayzie
Bone-assisted single “Ridin” helped Chamillionaire reach
over 5 million ringtone sales to go with a multi-platinum debut. He
later went on to win
for Best Rap
Performance by a Duo or Group for the popular song. Chamillionare went
on to release his sophomore album, Ultimate Victory
in 2007. Although the song wasn’t as commercially successful as
his first, it did spawn the popular single, “Hip Hop
Police” featuring rap veteran, Slick Rick.
Additionally,
Chamillionaire.com has also re-launched with a new design where
exclusive content and official merchandise can only be found for
Chamillionaire and artists signed to Chamillitary Records. The site
will be fully loaded with frequent news updates, performance footage,
video blogs, music, show info, merchandise, giveaways and much more. —gavin philip godfrey
