It’s been nearly seven years since Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died tragically in a freak car accident in Honduras. Now, her family has released her final solo album, a free flowing collection of songs that give fans a glimpse into the musical direction she was traveling in before her untimely death. While songs like “Spread Your Wings” push to uplift women, Others like “IN the Life” and “Legendary” find Left Eye more introspective and vulnerable than on her previous releases with the multi-platinum group, TLC. While Eye Legacy sometimes sounds obviously dated, it nevertheless is a solid navigation through the talents of one of music’s most missed stars. –rogue marie
