The Plot to Kill Hitler

The plots of Bryan Singer’s film Valkyrie and this made-for-TV movie are quite similar. In 1944, a coterie of German army officers plots to assassinate der Führer in order to salvage their battle-torn nation. Brad Davis (Midnight Express) plays the aristocratic Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, who led the mission to eliminate Hitler during a get-together at his “Wolf’s Lair.” But Hitler survives the bomb blast that was planned to kill him. Here’s a worthwhile, if flawed, historical film that the public should know about.
