Time has a way of subduing the radical in an artist (ahem, Common). It’s a good thing M1 and stic.man (Dead Prez) could give two you-know-whats about becoming famous. The duo hooked up with DJ Green Lantern — with great results — to drop their third LP, Pulse of the People Turn Off the Radio Vol. 3. On it they redefine the concept of being a G with tracks like “Gangsta, Gangster” featuring Styles P. and “Don’t Hate My Grind” featuring veteran, Bun B. “$timulus Plan” gives street savvy survival tactics to the urban radical. If you were hoping Dead Prez would lay off the revolutionary tip, keep dreaming. They’re still both revolutionary and gangster. –john burnett
