Months after graduating from Hampton University, Hazelton was hired by a Fortune 500 company and invested in real estate in his spare time. After years of learning the intricacies of business and marketing, Hazelton left his day job to open Café Circa with his Atlanta business partner. In just a year’s time, the bar and grill have become one of the most talked about restaurants in the southeast. Hazelton recently spoke with rolling out and provided tips on being a successful restaurateur. –amir shaw

Leadership – “Every business has to have a strong leader. You need people who are willing to follow and you have to be prepared to take control. If you don’t move your feet, you won’t make any progress.”

Tenacity – “You have to have a lot of tenacity and the drive to make it happen. When operating a business, you are managing one million moving parts. At any second, something will come up and you have to deal with it.”


Humility – “You have to position yourself and ask questions. A lot of people experience success and think they did it on their own. But you have to be humble and speak to everyone. When you step out on your own, you have your own back. So you want to always present yourself in the best manner.”
