While Tom Coughlin and Bill Belichick were sideline generals in Super Bowl XLII, the Doggfather of hip-hop proved to be the pee-wee football coach of the year at Snoop Bowl VI in Chandler, Ariz- Snoop Dogg lead the Snoop Dogg All-Stars to a 33-14 victory over the Chandler Cardinals before a sold out crowd at Hamilton High School stadium. The Cardinals, who were sponsored by Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, were outmatched at almost every position by the Snoop Youth Football League players.
Portions of the game’s proceeds were donated to the Matt Leinart Foundation, which helps disadvantaged youth. Current and former NFL stars Willie McGinest, LenDale White, Jamal Anderson and Deion Sanders came out to support the youth league championship, which took place one day before Super Bowl XLII.
Sanders applauded Snoop for establishing a football league that allows over 3,000 Los Angeles youth to take part in athletic activities. “I’ve known Snoop for years and this is what I’ve come to expect,” Sanders said. “I know the man behind [the] microphone, the man behind the platinum albums. I know his heart, his integrity and the love that he has for his family. He touches thousands of kids with his youth football league.
