“Working for Diddy” is one thing, but being taught by him is something completely different. Sean “Diddy” Combs, the music, fashion, media … heck, just mogul of all things entertainment, is ready share his urban brilliance with up-and-coming entrepreneurs. Diddy is about to launch a business academy.
There have been many criticisms of the hip-hop impresario over the years, but there isn’t one reason to be mad at this move. It’s undeniable that he has the intellect to build and maintain successful businesses, which is an understatement, so what better teacher or designer of curriculum would fertile students need than Diddy, who has put the rubber to the road quite well?
Since he entered the world of entertainment, Combs has been on a steady ascension that now finds him securely atop the heap, with a couple of high-profile friends, of course. He’s put Bad Boy Records on the map, heavily influencing pop culture; he’s built a multimillion-dollar empire; including Sean John clothing line, Justin’s restaurant and his reality show franchise; and he’s formed a lucrative relationship with Ciroc vodka. His business saavy is undeniable.
The goal of such an academy, according to him, would be to “share the secrets of his success with budding entrepreneurs” by launching a business school in New York. The line is already forming around the block!
He tells CNN, “I want to have an academy that’s known for building leaders. I feel that’s one of the things I can have an impact on.”
Combs is determined to be a good role model for youngsters and is convinced launching his own school is the best hands-on approach.
He adds, “I want to take on more responsibility. I’m still honestly in search of how I can have the most positive effect that I can have.
I’m sold … unless it’s another reality show idea … enter, side-eye. –gerald radford
