George Clinton’s son, George Clinton Jr., 50, was found dead Monday in his Florida home. The son of the funk legend had apparently been dead for several days, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office said. They received a call from a maintenance person who discovered the body at 12:30 p.m. Monday, at the Tallahassee apartment complex where he resided.
The cause of death is still undetermined, but there were no apparent signs of foul play, according to the Sheriff’s investigation.
“Barring any finding by the Medical Examiner’s Office, our investigation is complete,” said the Sheriff’s Office, who also reported that friends of the Clinton family had responded to their calls, but, curiously, failed to notify George Clinton Sr. of his son’s death. –gerald radford
