Kamikaze in Austin? Plane Possibly Intentionally Crashed Into IRS Building

alt

A small plane crashed kamikaze-style into a seven-story office building in Austin, Texas, and current indications point to a deliberate act according to newser.com. Reports are surfacing that the pilot may have set his house on fire, took the plane from a local airport, and purposely crashed it into the building at full throttle. The building that was damaged houses IRS offices, notes the Austin American-Statesman.

The casualty count remains unclear, but at least two people have been taken to the hospital and one other, reportedly the pilot, is unaccounted for. A federal official tells CNN that the crash looks deliberate. The Homeland Security Department initially ruled out a link to terrorism or criminal activity, but later modified the statement to rule out only a link to terrorism.

Tensions are running high across the board, and it’s not unheard of for someone to have beef with the IRS, although none have been avenged so dramatically. Let’s just hope lives were spared. –gerald radford
