Deunte Heath’s future as a pro baseball player is in jeopardy. Heath, a 24-year-old pitcher for the Braves’ Class AAA team, was recently arrested by Osceola County, Fla., police for soliciting sex online.
The police set up a sting where they posted classified ads on Craigslist that offered sexual services for a fee. Heath was arrested after he agreed to pay $75 to a woman for sex. A local camera crew followed the police and captured Heath’s arrest on video.
Heath attended the University of Tennessee and was drafted by the Braves in 2006. He was in Kissimmee, Fla., for the Braves’ annual spring training camp. The team has suspended Heath indefinitely. –a.r.
