The waiter says his bosses, referencing a note in the hotel’s computer system that read “this couple is very, very prejudiced,” prohibited him from serving the family and he claims he was “humiliated and embarrassed” by the incident, the lawsuit states.
“There’s just no room for it in America,” his lawyer told the News-Press. The director of the hospitality program at the nearby Florida Gulf Coast University said that while such requests are not uncommon, it’s one situation where the customer is definitely not always right.
