As much pain as it was for the music world to send off the King of Pop, it was hardest for the mother to say goodbye to her seventh son, Michael Jackson. As a tribute and catharsis to her extraordinary loss, the Jackson matriarch is publishing a coffee-table book of pictures next week, Never Can Say Goodbye: The Katherine Jackson Archives, as a tribute to the man who changed the face of popular music forever.

The book is aptly titled. “Never Can Say Goodbye” was one of MJ’s all-time favorite songs and was performed with his brothers, the Jackson Five, during their days at Motown. The title also sums up the worldwide sentiments about Jackson, whose music, voice, fashion trends and physics-defying dance moves riveted the world for nearly half a century. Throughout the years, and especially now as we close on the first anniversary of his shocking passing on June 25, the songs he wrote from a bygone era continue to get frequent airplay in clubs around the globe: “Don’t Stop til You Get Enough,” “Wanna Be Startin Somethin’,“ and the seismic single “Billie Jean.“

“She’s very proud of the book,” Showbiz411.com quoted a source close to the family. “It’s not being done for money, either.”

This much seems true, as such a book could have fetched a big advance. But Never Can Say Goodbye is being self-published. It will include pictures of Michael over the years, followed by reminiscences by his mom. She is said to also address the last year of his life, his childhood, and the questionable 1993 child abuse case.

It can be purchased from the website, www.jacksonsecretvault.com. –terry shropshire
