3 Stabbed at Taste of Chicago Trey Songz Concert

altThings seem to be heating up around R&B singer Trey Songz. He almost sparked a mini riot at the Essence festival during a Carol’s Daughter appearance and now it’s being reported that two teenage youths were stabbed last Thursday night after they attended his concert during the Taste of Chicago festival.  Fourteen-year-old Edward Nuttall and Bobby Greenlee, 15, were accosted after the show ended when they stopped by a local McDonald’s.

It started when a fight broke out and one of the victims said he saw a black youth swinging a knife. As he was trying to get his friend out of the chaos, Nuttall was stabbed in the arm and his friend was stabbed in the lower back.

Both were treated at a hospital and released with minor stab wounds. Another unnamed 15-year-old boy was also stabbed near the same location, according to a police spokesman.

The violence in Chicago has gotten so bad that two state representatives asked for Gov. Pat Quinn to deploy the Illinois National Guard in the streets this past April. As of April 25, 113 people have been killed in Chicago, which equals the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined in the same period. Citywide, 49 homicides have been recorded in June alone for this year.

It’s doubtful that Trey Songz’ celebrity had anything to do with the stabbings.
