If Beyoncé and Jay-Z ever head to splitsville, the Jigga Man should never have to worry about Beyonce taking him to the bank in manner as ridiculous as the reported Elin Woods divorce settlement. In fact, if you take any stock in a little thing called the Forbes Top Earners List, then one would have to believe that Beyonce has more to lose than Jay.
According to the 2010 Forbes Top Earners List for Musicians, Beyoncé held down the No. 3 spot, while her husband didn’t rank too far behind. Beyoncé was the highest earning female (once again) as she raked in a whopping $87 million dollars between June 2009 and June 2010. More than half of that total can be attributed to endorsements, which range from Nintendo and L’Oreal to her own burgeoning fashion line.
Her husband, Jay-Z, came in at No. 6 on the list with $63 million during that same period of time. Much of his income can be attributed to the release of his Blueprint 3 album, his various business investments, and a tour that grossed an impressive $1 million per city.
As far as the top 10 goes, the pair shared the spotlight with notables like U2, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen and Madonna. The only other “blacks” to make the list were the Black Eyed Peas, who brought in $48 million, thanks in large part to their worldwide tour and endorsements deals with Target, Honda, Bacardi and Apple. –dewayne rogers
