Now that Beyoncé is officially taking a 5-month hiatus to
recharge her battery, it’s time to take a look at her possible replacements. Is
there anyone capable of filling the massive void left by Beyoncé’s absence? Well that remains to be seen. But as
we wait for that answer to unfold, here are the possible heirs to her throne.
1. Keri Hilson
Perhaps the most mainstream person on our list, Hilson enjoyed a successful rookie campaign as a solo artist. With her second album in the
works, one has to wonder if she’s ready to ascend from her current star level
into the superstar stratosphere.
2. Melanie Fiona
As beautiful as Melanie Fiona is, she also has an apparent and genuine love for music. In my book, that may be more important than
any dance move she could ever attempt. True music fans appreciate that type of passion,
and the increased buzz surrounding Fiona suggests that I’m not the only one who
notices.
3. Janelle Monae
The wildcard of the group, Janelle Monae is so committed
to playing by her own rules that she may not even want Beyoncé’s spot. That
attitude alone is what makes Monae so relatable to fans. In a world where
everything is delivered in such a cookie cutter fashion, she might be the
breath of fresh air that the industry needs.
4. Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian is a singer, right? No? So … she’s an
actress? She’s not that either? Then what does she do? … Oh, I see … well never
mind.
5. Ciara
Now that we know Ciara is capable of riding the beat, let’s
see if she can also reclaim her lost fan base. After lackluster albums, and a
constantly changing image, fans don’t really know what to think of Ciara. Now
that Beyoncé is resting comfortably on the bench, it’s time for Ciara to step
up and prove that she’s ready to be a starter again.
