50 Cent Collaborates With Michael Jackson on King of Pop’s Posthumous CD

altHip-hop heavyweight 50 Cent is fulfilling a dream to collaborate with Michael Jackson on the King of Pop’s upcoming posthumous album titled Michael.

Curtis Jackson admitted that he even changed up his cadence to get into rhythm with the Teddy Riley-produced cut, “Monster,” which 50 called a “2010 version of Thriller.“

The New York-born rapper regrets that he missed out on the opportunity to work with MJ in the studio, although he did have the chance to speak to the legendary singer before he died on June 25, 2009.

“I didn’t have the opportunity to physically be in Michael Jackson’s presence,” 50 said in the interview posted on Michael Jackson‘s official website, MJJackson.com. “My DJ, Whoo Kid, he had the opportunity to actually meet Mike, because he was interested in working with me and he said that he had something he wanted me to actually hear, a song he created.”

The album Michael also brings together again, in a manner of speaking, Michael Jackson and Riley, whose collaboration back in the early ’90s on the Dangerous album produced the club bangers “Remember the Time,” “Jam” and “In the Closet..

Although the King of Pop is gone, 50 Cent treasures this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“I missed an opportunity to be on a record not just with a great artist, but a legend,” 50 Cent said. “So I wanted more, and I made adjustments to my cadence so I don’t sound like I sound on music that people have previously heard from me, because I’m adjusting to the production.”
