South African rappers Die Antwoord’s new CD is a fresh take on hip-hop music. The group’s first album, $0$, was available for download at no cost — hence the title. This fact in no way reflects its value. Once you pop $0$ in your CD player, you will be thoroughly entertained by the Cape Town ghetto sound and style called ZEF. The lyrics are performed both in their native tongue, Afrikaans, and English. The video for their single, “Enter the Ninja,” was voted best video of 2010 by Rolling Stone magazine. On their website, they boast that they are setting out to take over the Interweb. The group is comprised of three members: Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er and DJ Hi-Tek. –yvette caslin
