Team Barbie is continuing its unassaulted climb to the top as rapper Nicki Minaj has just crossed the platinum threshold for her debut album “Pink Friday.” According to Nielson Sound Scan, Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday album has been certified platinum, just six weeks after it’s release. What makes this news even more interesting is that Minaj has outsold Kanye West in every week since they both debuted together, with her only trailing him now by 30,000 albums.
When hearing the news, Minaj told MTV: “A part of me expected it, because I wanted it so bad, but I never saw all of this.”
In other news, Minaj’s sworn enemy, Lil Kim, was busy filming a video for her “Black Friday” diss of Minaj. Lil Kim recently brought in the New Year by promising to “erase [Minaj’s] social security number.” This video appears to be the first step in her attempting to do just that.
