Although prostitution remains a taboo subject and is illegal in most states, it continues to thrive as the world’s oldest profession. Here are several reasons men choose to pay for sex. –a.r.

Lack of Interpersonal Skills Although men are expected to be forthcoming when seeking a mate, some men lack the interpersonal skills that it takes to develop a normal relationship with a woman. In turn, paying for sex may become the only way for some men to connect with a female sexually.

Refusing to Deal With Emotions Some men want sex without having to spend time on dating and dealing with the emotional ties of being in a relationship.

Loneliness Men who are away from home a lot and those who are involved in long distance relationships could become burdened by loneliness. They may choose to pay for sex after going a long period of time without being intimate.

Instant Gratification We live in a society that is accustomed to quick fixes. Instead of becoming involved in a relationship or waiting for the appropriate moment to engage in sex with a partner, some men are willing to pay to satisfy their sexual urges.

Sex Addiction Men who rely on sex to get them through the day can be characterized as sex addicts. Once a sexual addiction develops, a man will pay for sex even if he has a wife or girlfriend who has sex with him on a regular basis.
