altOn Monday, Jan. 24, fans of the popular website worldstarhiphop.com discovered that the site was shut down and 50 Cent went on Twitter claiming that he was the reason for the site’s demise. Now, however, the emcee is reversing his statement.

While speaking with New York’s Hot 97 radio host Angie Martinez, 50 claimed that he may not have been the one to shut the site down after all:

“When I’m on Twitter, I’m just entertaining people. I might know someone who could do it, but I didn’t do that. Why would I do thing like that … Because I can?” explained 50.

“Maybe I did [shut it down]. It’s for the public to decide. It’s extremely entertaining to watch this fall apart.”

50 Cent has a clear motive to want to shut WSHH down, claiming that the site “encourages disrespect on every level possible.”

Ummm … OK, Fiddy.

No doubt, his claims of disrespect might just be due to the fact that the site owes him money over unauthorized advertising in 2008 and 2009. The exact amount of money that the site owes him is set to be revealed to the rapper in the next two weeks.

However, Lee “Q” O’Denat, the founder of WSHH, denies that 50 had anything to do with the site being offline, telling Martinez that the site was down due to server issues and that it would return “shortly.”

Is 50 playing us or do you really think he shut down WSHH? –nicholas robinson
