Lil Wayne Remixes Wiz Khalifa's Hit and Pays Homage to Green Bay Packers with 'Green and Yellow'

Lil Wayne often releases songs that feature him freestyling over popular instrumentals. The diminutive New Orleans rapper chose Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” instrumental to rap over for his first remix of 2011.

Titled “Green and Yellow,” the rap song pays homage to the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl run and is a scathing attack on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lil Wayne recently discussed why he made the song on ESPN’s “First Take.”

“I was watching some of those Steelers on media day and they kept saying ‘Black and yellow, black and yellow.’ I’m such a Packer fan that I might as well go in there and make ‘Green and Yellow,'” he said.

Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” has inspired dozens of remixes and even a few classical and rock versions have been produced. The songs have gone double platinum. –a.r.
