Like “Saturday Night Live” veterans Tim Meadows, Will Ferrell and Tina Fey before him, comedian and actor Kenan Thompson is next in line to star in his own “SNL”-generated film helmed by the show’s legendary head honcho, Lorne Michaels.
As vaguely described by deadline.com, the aptly titled film, Party Starters, is a high-concept comedy that centers on a fun-loving guy who keeps the party going, whether it be for a group of rowdy youngsters or a bunch of old people struggling to dance at a wedding.
Party Starters will mark Thompson’s first starring role since his appearance in the 2004 film, Fat Albert.
Thompson got his start in the business as a cast member on the Nickelodeon teen sketch comedy show “All That,” which eventually spawned a starring role in the film Good Burger, alongside castmate, Kel Mitchell.
As a six-season veteran on “SNL,” Thompson has made a name for himself with his spot-on impersonations of Bill Cosby as well as his “What’s Up With That?” and “Scared Straight” sketches.
