COZUMEL, Mexico – J. Anthony Brown, the architect of ultra popular “Light-Skin-Dark Skin” water gun fight on the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage, was armed with a water gun that looked more like a missile launcher. Tom Joyner, the leader of what they called the “light skinned” team and Brown’s foe, had what should have been classified as an illegal firearm, tucked under his arm.
There was a lot of love flowing throughout the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage. But it was war as thousands of mostly black cruisers took sides, took aim at each other and commenced to surgically strike each other.
Celebrities are not immune from mass drenching. In fact, their celebrity may have inspired the masses to pile up on them with more ferocity. At one point, Joyner was swallowed up in a mass of dark-skinned cruisers who pelted him with ice-cold strikes from their water guns.
The next evening aboard the Voyager of the Seas, Joyner and Brown were joined by the rest of the “Tom Joyner Morning Show” crew for “Mardi Gras” night. Arguably the most popular of the themed nights, “Mardi Gras” is where Joyner’s comedic personality shines. This year, Joyner climbed inside an astronaut contraption that inspired howls of laughter from the multitude of onlookers along the parade route on the Promenade level of the ship.
Afterwards, Joyner and crew joined the throngs of partiers as they danced in the middle of the ship long into the next morning. –terry shropshire
