Nick Cannon to Host New CBS Radio Countdown Show

Actor Nick Cannon has already begun to make his mark in the world of radio with his own morning radio show “Rollin With Nick Cannon” at WXRK (92.3 NOW) New York. But now Cannon is going national as the host of CBS’s new nationally syndicated weekly countdown show “Cannon’s Countdown.”

According to billboard.com, the show will begin airing the weekend of April 23 and will feature a standard mix of music and celebrity interviews.

When it comes to which celebrity will be the first to be interviewed by Cannon, the radio hosts remains pretty mum but admits that he’s in talks with some major celebrity catches.

“Last week I spoke with Britney Spears and I had Chris Brown in the studio before that. Whatever is happening in pop culture, I’m there. CBS Radio has been an incredible partner. With the success we’ve had with my morning show, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to reach radio listeners nationwide.”

The new CBS radio show will be produced in association with Cannon’s own Ncredible Entertainment and will debut in 24 markets including New York (WXRK), Washington, D.C. (WPGC), and Atlanta’s own WVEE.

In conjunction with the radio show, Cannon will also launch cannonscountdown.com, which will list and stream the weekly countdown, offer daily pop culture overviews and showcase Cannon’s own take on the latest in entertainment, music, fashion, events and gadgets.

As Cannon explains, his new launches are all a part of his plan to take the world of media by storm.

“It’s all part of my plan to be a media monster; Ryan Seacrest ain’t got nothing on me,” explains Cannon, with a laugh.
