Summer is right around the corner, girls! It’s time for sunny weather and hitting the pool or those sandy beaches. It’s also time to be on the hunt for swimsuits, and this year there is plenty from which to choose. Right off the Spring 2011 runways are some great inspirations. I’ve got the hot swimwear trends for this season.
’70’s: Remember those bell bottoms and peasant tops? Now, those styles are in fashion again. You will see vibrant hues with halter-styled, one-piece suits. Lots of neck straps and keyholes.
Macrame: Tied and twisted up in knots will be the scene at the beach or poolside this season. Catwalks showed macrame trends with unique textiles and textures. Some one-piece suits showed sexy beaded bikinis as well.
Graphic: We will see ’80’s-styled, high-waist bikinis with lots of graphic prints. Africa-inspired prints with leopard and zebra patterns. Lots of feminine details and cutouts.
Nude: Not into all the floral prints or bold hues? Try the nude or gold tone suits. Lots of shimmer and brocade, corset-type, one-piece suits. Very classic and chic.
Vibrant: Bold vibrant colors in greens, yellows and neon shades with punch will be seen this season. Lots of hot pink colors with bandeau tops and two-pieces as well.
Girly Girl: For those girly girls who love frilly and ruffles, this will be the season for you. Lots of strapless suits with flaunted ruffles in floral prints.
Retro: One of my favorite styles, the ’50’s-inspired suit, will be hot this summer! High-waist, balconette tops and in gingham prints. Hot shorts and structured swim tops will make any girl feel sweet as pie.
Cutout: We will see dramatic cutout styles with strapless pieces that any girly will love. Floral and bold print suits will make any lady feel sultry and sexy.
Sheer: Mesh suits in white or black under sheer cover-ups will be a hot trend this summer. If you’re daring, this will be the look for you.
Crochet: This ’70’s style will never retire. In crochet bikinis or one-pieces, if you have the body, these will look rocking and pleasantly shocking at the beach. Hot colors will be teal, red and white.
