Chris Bosh Sues Mother of His Child for Involvement With VH1’s ‘Basketball Wives’

Chris Bosh Sues Mother of His Child for Involvement With VH1's 'Basketball Wives'Along with most NBA players, Chris Bosh is not a fan of VH1’s “Basketball Wives.” The Miami Heat star has decided to sue the mother of his child, Allison Mathis, for her involvement with the hit reality show.

Created by Shaquille O’Neal’s ex-wife, Shaunie O’Neal, the show follows the lives of women who were romantically involved with NBA players.

Bosh filed the lawsuit Monday and claims that Mathis is infringing on his trademark and publicity rights by exploiting his name for financial gain.

“The use of Plaintiff’s name by Defendants is primarily commercial and not communicative. Further, the show, Basketball Wives, is not transformative, but rather the use, depiction, or imitation of celebrity NBA players, including Plaintiff, is the very sum and substance of the show.”

Other NBA players who have spoken out against the show include Dwight Howard and Antoine Walker. –a.r.
