We got to give props to the team led by Sheree and Tameka Raymond for beating out Bob and the four other celebrity teams to take home first prize.
Sheree and Tameka were members of a team led by outstanding chef DelRoy Christian from Mingles restaurant. Having enjoyed multiple exotic dishes from the culinary connoisseur myself, I can testify to Christian’s kitchen prowess.
It seemed, initally, like someone purposely put Sheree and Tameka together on the same team, perhaps hoping that their colorful and volatile temperaments thrown together would produce fun, emotional explosions for the audience to see.
Instead, it was a collision of happy hearts as the squad produced kitchen gold.
The Celeb Cook Off was part of the second annual Taste of Southwest Atlanta at the new Adamsville Recreation and Facilities Center. Other celeb teams featured radio-TV personality Rashan Ali; radio deejay Ramona DeBreaux; Ed Hartwell, formerly of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta; and R&B music artist Ray Lavendar of Konvict (“Ultimate Merger” fame).
To celebrate the affair, the celebrities and teams will meet up again on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. for the “All the Way Live” comedy event with Rodney Perry at Mingles in downtown Atlanta.
