Pharrell and N.E.R.D. served as the headlining act for the Coors Light Super Cold Summer Kickoff which took place at Mansion Elan in Atlanta on May 25. Hosted by radio personality Ryan Cameron, the show opened with a performance from Coldest South regional winner PyInfamous. The Mississippi native received the most votes after uploading his music to the Coors website.
Pac Div brought Cali swag to the stage and moved the crowd with their hits “Mayor” and “Anti-Freeze.”
However, N.E.R.D proved to be the crowd favorite. The trio hit the stage after Pac Div and opened with the seductive “Hypnotize U.” Backed by a live band, Pharrell, Chad Hugo and Shay Haley performed hits “Sooner or Later,” “Kill Joy,” and “Rock Star.”
N.E.R.D picked up the pace, and the crowd erupted as they performed “Spazz” and “Lap Dance.” Pharrell invited several girls on stage during “Everyone Nose,” and one ecstatic female fan had enough guts to stage dive.
The Coors Light Super Cold Summer tour will travel to New York, Baltimore and the finale will take place at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. –amir shaw
