Sean Kingston’s female passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, is opening up about the jet ski accident, saying the two “were going really fast” when they crashed into the bridge.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Sanchez says that she and another female arrived in Miami on Saturday evening to ride jet skis with Kingston and his friend. The next day, the four paired up to ride jet skis and apparently began racing each other when things quickly got out of control.
“Both jet skis pulled out of the dock at the same time and we were going so fast we just blasted past them. When we turned a corner and crashed … they were so far behind us they didn’t even see us crash.”
Sanchez explains that as she and Kingston approached the Palm Island Bridge she yelled out, “We can’t fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean stop!” Sanchez believes that Kingston tried to avoid the bridge but lost control of the jet ski and ultimately crashed into the bridge.
Sanchez says that she remember waking up in the water in pain as their friends raced over to help them.
“[Sean] was coughing up blood, foam and pink stuff” … and when he finally opened his eyes, he kept repeating the words, “I’m hurting. I’m hurting,” said Sanchez.
Sanchez sustained only minor injuries from the accident, reporting soreness in her ribs and jaw. However, Kingston is still a patient at Jackson Memorial hospital in stable condition where doctors plan to keep the “Beautiful Girls” singer for “a couple more weeks.”
“They have a tube down his throat so he can’t really talk, but he is lucid and understands what’s going on.”
A rep for Kingston recently told MTV News that, “he is aware of what is going on around him,” adding that the singer “is sedated but fully conscious.”
Although alcohol wasn’t mentioned in the incident, authorities are still launching an investigation into the cause of the crash.
