Michael Vick continues to inspire young people by talking about his past troubles and warning them against making the same mistakes that led to his stint in prison.
On June 10, Vick gave his first commencement speech at Camelot For Kids schools in Philadelphia. Camelot has seven alternative schools in Pennsylvania that educate students who dropped out or were expelled from their original schools due to poor grades or behavioral issues. Vick spoke to 450 students about the importance of making good decisions in life.
“Think before you speak, think before you act, think before you make decisions in your life,” Vick said. “I stand before you today a changed man. Use me as an example as how to become an instrument of change. You can do it as well.”
Vick surprised Monica Joseph, 18, and Ricky Savage, 19, with $5,000 college scholarships. –a.r.
