Kimberly Corbin, the newly appointed president and CEO of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) held a press conference in the atrium of Atlanta’s City Hall to announce the organization’s 33rd Annual Conference & Exposition, which will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, through Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Georgia World Congress Center.

“This is the largest African American career fair of its kind with 12,000 attendees and 400 corporate sponsors that are bringing jobs to the table, conducting interviews and, in some cases, on-the-spot hiring,” offers Corbin.

The NBMBAA is an organization committed to the development of educational and economic growth for African American professionals, and its membership base of talented men and women is dedicated to improving the educational achievement and economic status of African Americans.

“Our most valuable assets are our members. That’s why this year’s conference theme, “PowerUp Your Profitability,” focuses on building the strengths and talents of our members so they can be even greater contributors to the global community,” she says.

The NBMBAA conference will provide the tools to ensure that individuals and business owners are uniquely prepared and positioned to capitalize on new opportunities as the U.S. begins a slow economic recovery from a devastating recession.

Corbin continues, “The organization goes from the high school to the boardroom, and we have something for everyone. One of our imperatives is supporting our youth. The Leaders of Tomorrow program is celebrating its 20th anniversary of ensuring that youth have access to what they need to tackle the challenges that we know they will face. We have the collegiate case competition, professional development seminars and a host of workshops, including the leadership institute and entrepreneurship institute. Additionally, we offer hands-on mentoring year-round and hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships in our collegiate chapters and for college students.”
