Fantasia announced yesterday that she is pregnant while performing at the opening of Riverview Apartments in Jacksonville, FL. This statement comes after much speculation over the past several months of whether she was actually pregnant or gaining weight for a new movie role. Fantasia put the rumors to rest when she made the following announcement:
You are the first person that I share this news with and I share this with you because I can relate to you. For awhile I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk, so this child that I carry….God has given me this child and I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.
While there is a huge possibility that Antuan Cook could be the father of her unborn child, Fantasia didn’t confirm or deny it. Despite the drama that ensued during their brief split last year, which resulted in her failed suicide attempt, they’ve been spotted together several times since then.
